There were a number of waterfowl on two lakes near our home in Medina
County this morning. Both Hubbard Valley Lake and Chippewa Lake had a
couple of Tundra Swans. Here is a complete list of what we saw at Hubbard
Valley:

Chippewa Lake is a much larger lake and we were surprised to see 3 Killdeer
and 1 American Pipit. Many Hooded Mergansers and small numbers of both
Common and Red-breasted Mergansers. A group of Redheads were swimming with
Ruddy Ducks. Complete list:

This cold spell has not frozen over either of these lakes and the birds
seem content to hang around a while longer.
