This afternoon (December 30, 2014) I observed a pair of Cackling Geese from the southernmost parking lot of Mosquito Lake State Park, Trumbull Co.  They were mixed in with a large flock of Canada Geese, which provided the opportunity for easy identification at close range.

On the Ohio State Route 88 causeway across Mosquito Lake, a small flock of four Snow Buntings was observed from the fishermen parking lots.  The flock was first flushed from along the riprap shoreline at the north parking lot, but the flock then flew across the highway to the parking lot on the south side of the causeway.
