I slogged through the main parts of 3-Creeks Park this morning before the rain got really bad, and was rewarded with a fairly productive morning scouting for the impending CBC. The Creeks were high, as were many of the ponds, and all of the feeder stations along the multi-use path were stocked. Among the highlights were

Green-winged Teal - a flock of 40 seems to have taken up residence in the Borrow Pits just south of I-270. Hopefully they;ll stick around for the CBC

Brown Creepers - good numbers, with over 8 in 2 hours. The riparian woods here seem ideal winter habitat

Golden-cr.Kinglet - at least 2 were in the pine copses along the bikepath north of the Confluence area

Hermit Thrush - 1 bird was just north of the bikepath bridge over Big Walnut Creek

Tree Sparrows - singles were at several spots. It's a good omen when they show up this far south in our circle.

Swamp Sparrow - at least one was in the overgrown rockpit along the bikepath between I-270 and the Confluence area
