We had a snowy owl in DeRivera Park in the top of a tree right across from the Beer Barrell Saloon on South Bass Island today. Marie Schroeder spotted the bird and let us all know. Everyone got good looks and photos. A snowy owl had been sighted on North Bass on December 14 and then one was sighted on South Bass by John Scarpelli near the South Bass Island lighthouse on Monday December 15. Not sure if it is the same owl that we are seeing.

Marie also had photos of a sawwhet owl on her camera from the night before. Paul Ladd saw one on December 10 on South Bass as well.
