While I was sitting in my car across from the Crawford County landfill
today, while scanning for gulls I noticed a person atop "mount crawford".
Some guy was standing on top of the landfill with a rifle/shotgun. And this
was before noon, when the landfill closes. I'm guessing he was shooting
crows. Old route 30, now county road 330, is not that far "as the crow
flies". Any ballistics experts out there that knows how far a gun shot
round carries?
If you go to a county landfill to look at gulls, you might want to be
wearing hunter orange. : )
     Good birding,
     John Herman
