Cowan lake had open water at the eastern half viewable from the beach area and the fishing pier east of the beach. Waterfowl seen Sunday

The quarry in Melvin a few miles east of Wilmington on SR 22 held
Canada Goose
Cackling Goose 1
Ross’s Goose 2
Mallard
Black Duck
Gadwall 2
American Wigeon 1 drake
Lesser Scaup 1
Greater Scaup 2
Redhead 27
Red-breasted Merganser 1 drake

On the pond on the south side of SR 73 just west of the SR22 exit Shane Egleston found 5 white Snow Geese.
