A GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE with a small flock of Canada Geese passed over Wendy Park and Edgewater Park yesterday in the noon hour, spotted by Chuck Slusarczyk Jr., and by no small miracle, re-spotted in flight by myself and Bev Walborn through a well-coordinated phone call. A very, very rare bird for the immediate CLE area. This bird made TWENTY species of waterfowl for the day at Wendy Park yesterday-- between the mouth of the Cuyahoga, and open patches of water around the break wall to Edgewater Martina's boat dock pier (viewing into harbor). TWO Red-necked Grebes were at the open water patch just off Edgewater Marina, one stunning bird photographed by Dale Gaul. Glaucous and Iceland Gulls at the river mouth by the old coast guard station at Wendy Park. Turkey Vultures made a push along the shoreline starting around 10 am and continuing through the day, best viewing from the lower parking lot at Edgewater looking south towards the Battery Park tower
