thanks to the tip from Patrick Coy,
viewing from Cove Road and Lake Beach Road
off Rt 93 in Portage Lakes (Summit Co), we saw
(many examples of most of these):

hooded, red-breasted, and common mergansers,
ring-necked, golden eye, lesser scaup, canvasback,
red head, gadwall, american widgeon, shoveler,
bufflehead, coot, mallard, horned and pied billed grebe,
mute and trumpeter swan, great blue heron, can goose.
