Yesterday, 3/24/15 Ottawa County
Two were spotted in the West Harbor area of Catawba Island.
Thought they were a little early.

> Sorry for the tardy post, but on Monday just before 8 am I observed a great egret along a stretch of the Scioto River alongside Interstate 670 about 1/2 mile west of the interchange with state route 315. The bird was not there when I returned along the same route seven hours later. (I suspect in another few weeks most determined Ohio yearlisters will have notched a great egret but it is a very early date for one in central Ohio. I don't recollect ever having seen an egret standing beside an ice floe.)
