This morning (Wednesday, 9:45 am) a Great Egret flew into the Hocking River in Athens, about 200 m downstream of Richland Avenue Bridge. It stood there a while and allowed some distant photos before it flew off in upstream direction. Its large size, long neck, yellow bill, black feet, and tail plumes were all visible.

Recently, one also has been seen at Lake Logan. eBird flagged the entry… seems early for them.
