I had a couple good birds in my North Perry yard, white-winged crossbill and
long-eared owl. The white-winged crossbill showed up this morning with a
group of house finches. It dropped down to the feeders for about 5 seconds
before being scared off by a cardinal. It flew up into the white pines and
never came back down. It never reappeared. It was a female plumaged bird.

This afternoon I was alerted to the long-eared owl by a group of crows that
were harassing it. Originally there were also a number of chickadees in the
area. The crows chased the bird from conifer to conifer. I viewed it from
a distance and the bird kept trying to get into the densest part of the
trees. I left the bird go and did even attempt to get any photos because
the crows were harassing it so much. About an hour later I went out and
heard no crows and saw no sign of the owl.
