I've noticed posts on this listserv, on eBird, and on Facebook reporting Eared Grebes recently. Eared Grebe is very uncommon in Ohio (I've never seen one) so it seems like these sightings should be qualified at least with a description (solid black neck, no white tip on the bill, etc.) and a photograph if possible. I'd hate to miss out on an actual sighting nearby because somebody's report made it sound as though they just saw a dark Horned Grebe in breeding plumage and reported it incorrectly!
