These evening as my wife Jane, dog Nancy, cat Bran and I were coming back
down the hill homeward from our customary dusk walk to the summit of our
property, I heard a song I didn't quite recognize, then another. Then I
noticed that subsequent vocalizations were mostly paired. The season's
first brown thrasher here.
