Yesterday afternoon I found a patch of marshy/brushy area in Bedford Reservation that had two fox sparrows, two white-throated sparrows and a golden-crowned kinglet. There were also robins, juncos, chickadees, cardinals, blue jays and titmice in this same area. I also saw a Veery a short distance away in a wooded area. This was along the trail between Egbert Road/Overlook Lane and Alexander Road. I do occasionally run across spots like this in the woods where there are lots of birds clustered together. I am wondering if there is a good food source for all of these birds in the area. I am sure that the brush provides cover for them. And, not a lot of people go through this particular area because it can be very wet.

This morning I saw a yellow-bellied sapsucker in Bedford Reservation near the small pond between Gorge Overlook and Bridal Veil Falls. I also saw two turkeys running through the woods. The downy woodpeckers in this area were going crazy making a lot of noise. They were calling and drumming.
