Hi,

The way to attract wood warblers is to provide them with the woodland
habitat they prefer.

Magee Marsh provides a prefect example. It is a 7 acre forest island in a
sea of marsh and bean fields. There is nothing much else special about the
location other than it has trees in an area where trees are sparse.

Warblers move in broad fronts and forage wherever they can find good things
to eat.

I live in the woods and have an admittedly enviable yard list of 26 warbler
species.

If you are going to plant trees to attract warblers Oaks are your best
bet. Also avoid using lawn and garden chemicals. More biodiversity in
plants and insects will attract more birds. Warblers are insectivorous and
it will not do to kill off the insects they want to eat.

Haans
