Took a nice morning walk at Wright Marsh in the Killbuck Wildlife Area
south of Wooster. I had five sparrows: white-crowned, white-throated, song,
swamp, and heard a field sparrow. A few rusty blackbirds were still
present. Two sandhill cranes were walking fields closeby. The warblers are
arriving - two males each of yellow and yellow-rumped. A few marsh wrens
were singing in the cattails. Blue-winged teal and wood ducks were there,
and a few ring-necked ducks and one redhead were still present. Chimney
swifts have arrived, as well as tree, barn and one cliff swallow. Wonderful
early spring morning to be out with 38 species in total. Randy Rowe, Wooster
