I saw my first phoebe of the spring doing its tail flick thing this morning when I took a short hike along the Buckeye Trail between Broadway Avenue and Richmond Road. It was near a misty marshy area in the woods where I saw two mallards trying to lay flat on the ground. Maybe the mallard were looking for a nesting area. Good luck to them if they are nesting. I have seen large raccoons in this area that could be classified as small bears.

Ken
