The first wave of temperate migrants is definitely washing into central Ohio, if my experience at a few parks in Gahanna is any indication. Among the notable arrivals today were

Sapsuckers - singles at 2 different locations, including Jefferson Township Park woods
E.Phoebes - singles at many different locations, usually along creeks
Tree Swallows - lots of pairs squabbling over nest boxes in many locations
Brown Thrashers - at least 3 at Hannah Farms Park, and several others singing along local roadsides
Golden-cr.Kinglets - small numbers in many places, including some singing birds
Yellow-throated Warbler - 1 singing along Rocky Fork Creek near the Gahanna library
Yellow-rumped warblers - singles in many different locations
E.Towhees - singing birds at many locations
Chipping Sparrows - widespread, with many singing birds
Fox Sparrow - at least 1 singing at Hannah Farms Park
White-throated Sparrows - flocks at Hannah Farms and Jefferson Township Park
Juncos - small #s at several different locations
Cowbirds - widespread & abundant
