MAY 10, 2015 - Birds4Cure Juvenile Diabetes Hike <www.birds4cure.wordpress.com>HIKE: Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail from just north of Rockside Rd. to the old Coast Guard Station and Wendy Park at the mouth of the Cuyahoga River at Lake Erie, Cleveland. 100 miles done between Dover and Cleveland.TIME: 8:00am-5:30pm TEMP.: 67-86 COND.: Cloudy early, with brief sprinkles from 8:10am-8:40am, then cloudy giving way to sunshine & very hot - again! FT.MI.: 14.0 OBS.: Douglas W. & Michelle Vogus.I. MAMMALS: 5 SPECIES.

Well, that's it! 100 miles of the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail complete! A trek through the industrial heartland intoCleveland and to the shores of Lake Erie produced 6 more new species of birds to give us a final total of 131 speciesof birds over the 100 mile route. The new species added to the final day were: Common Merganser, Great Black-backedGull, Caspian Tern, Common Tern, American Kestrel and Savannah Sparrow. Thanks to all who have donated givingus a grand total of $3,899.25 raised for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation!!!
