This cool morning brought a lot of birds to the edge of the pond to forage for insects.
I stopped to watch the activity, Eastern Kingbirds, yellow warblers, phoebes, a Swainsons thrush
and a surprise visitor, a Northern Waterthrush.  The waterthrush stayed on the edges of the 
pond and sang most of the time as he worked his way around.  Was still there when I
left after an hour.

There were also two green herons, one perched on a log in the pond, and the
other sitting in the top of a tree overhead singing his croaky song.  (I think this qualifies
as a courtship song…the habitat is adequate.)

Also a pair of Baltimore Orioles in good habitat for nesting.
