Lake Hope State Park & Zaleski State Forest are located 15 miles from
Nelsonville (Rte 33) off of Rte 278. Last week I wrote up a report about
summer Birding in these areas. This info is now on the eBird Hotspot
I was able to locate all 20 breeding Warblers in this area. I just saw my
first Warbler young-Prairie
I also found 4 young R Grouse on Atkinson Ridge Rd- 200 yards from Rte
278.
This Bird is the most requested Bird in this area. I hear males Drumming
in the spring & see young this time of year. I report where these things
are happening, but I tell people you just have to be there to see or hear
them.
The write up on the eBird Hotspot tells of the different Warblers found
in the area & what habitat they breed in.
