Once again, it is that time of year, when my wife Denise and I are the volunteer hosts at The Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center in southeastern Columbiana County. On the upcoming Saturdays of July 4th and July 11th, we would like to welcome all of you to come to this habitat diverse corner of Ohio and visit with us. We will be happy to give you a personal tour of The Center, showing you over 300 bird and mammal mounts, all in natural settings. In The Ohio Room, you will find close to 180 bird species on display; you have to see it to believe it. The North American Room has everything from a full size Mountain Goat to full size Grizzly Bears, to Black-billed Magpie, and Sage Grouse, just as a miniscule example of what you can see. For any avian enthusiast, bird mounts are the true highlight, with everything from Great Gray Owl to even a Passenger Pigeon. If you decide to take a ride to this bit of paradise, I guarantee you will be more than surprised at what you encounter here. The Center is located at the entrance to Beaver Creek State Park, 12798 Echo Dell Road, East Liverpool, Ohio. From SR7, about two miles north of its intersection with SR11, take Bell School Road east to Echo Dell Road, turn left and go to The Center on the right. The Center will be open from 1PM to 5PM. For pictures and additional information about The Center go to our website (www.beavercreekwildlife.org). Hope to see you there.
