We decided to make the ninety-two mile trek to Conneaut, today, Friday. The gate still being closed, we decided to take a look from the marina road and have lunch before wandering on foot out to The Conneaut Sandspit. At 12:35PM, from the marina road with a scope, we could see a single Piping Plover and 3 Semipalmated Plovers on the east edge of the sandspit with lots of gulls. This is looking across the harbor. Unfortunately at 12:40PM, a young couple with their unleashed Dalmatian came along enticing their large beast to flush every bird there, including
all of the gulls. It appeared when the birds were flushed there were other shorebirds in the interior of the sandspit. We will walk out and check it out after lunch. Another report to follow.
