Today, Thursday, we arrived at "The Sandspit" at 11:30 AM, crossing paths with Dave Chase on his way out. The gate is still closed. The Port Authority tractor was up to its usual, wearing out the sand. Some of the other birds present as of 12:15PM are Short-billed Dowitcher, Sanderling,  Semipalmated Plover, Caspian Tern, Bald Eagle, and a marauding Peregrine Falcon.
