Birded Lake La-SU-AN in far Northwest Ohio today. Walked around the main lake and the only birds of interest were 6 Kingbirds. We then drove East about 1/2 mile on County Rd R to a pull off on the north side of the Rd listed as Area B. This is a dove hunting area and is planted with sunflowers about 1/8th of a mile north of the parking area. There is a mown path that takes you there. There were several flocks of female and immature Bobolinks flying above and perching on the sunflowers No males were seen, but we saw at least 40 females! Life bird for my wife Tammy. Also saw Indigo Buntings, Goldfinches and several species of swallow.
