Berlin Lake in Stark County has finally been drawn down to prime shorebird levels. This morning by walking south from the Price Road parking lot Ben Morrison, Jon Cefus, & I found 7 American Golden-Plover, 4 Stilt Sandpiper, 1 Wilson's Snipe, 14 Pectoral Sandpiper, 31 Lesser Yellowlegs, 3 Greater Yellowlegs, 4 Solitary Sandpiper, 8 Least Sandpiper, 1 Semipalmated Sandpiper, 2 Semipalmated Plover, & 206 Killdeer. This area should be outstanding for the rest of the season.Just west of here I had a Buff-breasted Sandpiper in a large group of Killdeer at the large, private pond at the corner of St. Peters Church Road & State Route 44 but the bird flew out of sight to the west.Kent Miller
