After several unsuccessful attempts to see the migration of nighthawks in Athens, I finally got my fix tonight (one day after Bill Whan’s magic day): Up to 50 nighthawks were foraging near the Hocking River over the Ohio University Campus, at the edge of an approaching thunderstorm front. Then a higher-flying flock of 34 nighthawks passed over, heading in a southeast direction. I managed to take some pictures:

Also, an Osprey continues to patrol the river, and some 183 Turkey Vultures were soaring.
