It was a 'black day' at Hoover Dam today, with a Black Tern fishing above the dam this morning, and 3 Black Vultures near the marina above the dam this afternoon.  Add in 16+ Turkey Vultures, 20+ cormorants, 75+ geese, 20+ crows, and grackles, starlings, & Phoebes, and you can begin to see how dark hues carried the day.  Toss in the fact that I didn't see a single warbler - possibly the first time that's happened to me on a September outing - and the somber tone becomes more than just a color-less description.
