Took a road trip yesterday with a friend to Conneaut and were rewarded with
very little people activity and great looks at a small flock of Sanderlings
(9) and Dunlin (8) that came in while we were there. A few pics here

In Geauga County at LaDue Reservoir the Sandhill Crane's have begun roosting
on the gravel bar along Valley Road and one of them has a transmitter
attached to its leg. If things follow the pattern of the last few years we
should see numbers increase until mid-November when they all leave at once
for their wintering grounds. Last year I think there were as many as 22 by
November.
