Join you fellow OOS members at our annual meeting at the Gorman Nature
Center 2295 Lexington Ave. Mansfield, OH. 44907 on November 7, 2015!

Make it a full day with field trips in the Mansfield-Mohican area, or just
enjoy the dinner, speaker and our annual elections.

All Field trips leave from the Gorman Nature Center:

1) Gorman Nature Center: 7:00 a.m. Meet at GNC for a morning bird walk for
resident and late migrant species, followed by breakfast at a local
restaurant.

2) Clearfork Reservoir: 10:00 a.m. Meet at GNC and then carpool to Clearfork
Reservoir. Clearfork Reservoir sits at one of the highest points in Richland
County and it is a fall magnet for migrating waterfowl and gulls. A good,
fall day at Clearfork can result in 20+ species of waterfowl, including
loons, grebes and scoters. Resident Bald Eagles and Osprey may still be
lingering in the area and should be seen. Clearfork is also becoming famous
as an inland site for Lesser Black-backed and white-winged gulls. In the
fall and early winter, large concentrations of gulls gather each evening
near the dam at Clearfork, including good numbers of Lesser Black-backed
Gulls.

Lunch on your own...

3) Mohican State Park & Forest: 1:30 p.m. Meet at GNC and then carpool to
Mohican. We will explore the various habitats at Mohican looking for
resident and migrant species.

4) Clearfork Reservoir: 5:00 p.m. Meet at GNC and carpool to Clearfork
Reservoir to see the masses of gulls as they come to roost for the evening
on the water near the dam. We will look for specialty gulls including Lesser
Black-backed Gulls. Plenty of opportunities to look for waterfowl while we
wait for the gulls.

Evening Schedule:

5:30 - Guided tour of Gorman Nature Center grounds for early arrivals

6:00 - Arrive at Nature Center

6:30 - Welcome and dinner buffet

7:15 - OOS board of directors election

7:30 - Speaker Steve McKee
