I realize this is something of a late post (computer problems), but at least for informational purposes, there were common loons at Springfield Lake last Sunday -- looked like 3 juveniles and what could have been a couple of adults. The juveniles came fishing closer to shore.
The common loons had shown up at the lake in the Spring, so hopefully this will become a stop on migration each direction.
