There are currently 66 White-rumped Sandpipers at Big Island. That number
is sixty-six. An awesome number! In addition other birds are:

Stilt Sandpipers 6
Long-billed Dowitcher 1
Baird's Sandpiper 1
Wilson's Phalarope 1
Pectoral Sandpipers 25
Lesser Yellowlegs 12
Greater Yellowlegs 1
Least Sandpipers 3
Semi-palmated Sandpipers 3.

The shorebird habitat is in the middle pond along LaRue-Prospect Rd. in
Marion Co. Walk the dike north along the west side and look east. Better in
the afternoon. There is a pull-off on the south side. Park, cross the road
and head north along the dike.

Oops! The large group of White-rumpeds just lifted off. So far they have
not returned. They are back!!!
