There were two red-throateds loons and a red-necked grebe at Geneva State Park. The birds were north of the marina outlet. The loons were pretty distant and stayed together. The grebe was a lot closer. It kept diving and was covering a lot of area while down.

The Ashtabula County lakeshore was a bit slow today. I saw no large concentrations of waterfowl or gulls anywhere. Horned grebes were occasional everywhere, but loons were pretty scarce with just a couple at each location. The snowy owl and purple sandpiper found at Ashtabula Harbor made up for it.
