I was contacted today by a birder/photographer who had a probable albino Red-tailed Hawk. He was birding in the western part of the state, I believe in Darke Co. in a place called Edison Woods in Greenville-Ansonia. At about 1:00 p.m. he photographed a large white bird that was soaring over the woods. At first he thought a Snowy Owl. We corresponded a bit and we believe from his description of the flight pattern, that it was a probable an albino Red-tailed Hawk. An albino Red-tailed Hawk is a very beautiful and very special bird to see. It would be great if some of the birders from that part of the state could relocate this bird and enjoy its special beauty.
