I birded areas along the Scioto River from Long St dam south through downtown, Scioto Audubon, Haul Rd, and quarries down near St 317 and Lockbourne. Unlike the reservoirs, there was minimal evidence of waterfowl migration here. The winter gull commuters, though, were much in evidence. Notables included:

Mute Swans - 2 were at Haul Rd, and another was at the 317-ParsonsAve Quarry.
Dabblers - hardly anything other than small flocks of mallards. Scioto Audubon had 3 Green-winged Teal
Divers - nothing other than small groups of Hooded Mergansers at many locations
Other waterfowl - Haul Rd had 2 Pied-billed Grebes, and Scioto Audubon had 7 cormorants
Raptors - not much other than a few scattered Red-tailed Hawks. A Cooper's Hawk was at Lockbourne.

Gulls - small flocks of Ring-billed Gulls were at many places along the river, with the largest being some 80+ birds downtown. More were commuting south, and a brief drive around the perimeter of the County Landfill showed clouds of gulls on the fresh fill. Some were flying south to fields along Zuber Rd, but I couldn't find anything other than Ring-bills & Herring.

Robins - probably the most common landbird of the morning, with flocks in honeysuckle bushes all along the riverfront. As long as the berries hold out, these birds should stick around.

Sparrows - flocks of White-throated Sparrows were almost as common as Robins. Also had small groups of Juncos at many locations, and a Fox Sparrow was at Long St. Dam

Blackbirds - nothing other than a handful of grackles with big flocks of Starlings around Lockbourne.

Finches - nothing other than the expected House Finches & Goldfinches
