The Kelp Gull provided a Merry Christmas this morning for local Summit County birder Matthew Kapler who'd managed to miss the bird many multiple of times including leaving just before the bird arrived on December 20th and returning 30 seconds after it left. Shari Jackson and Mike & Wendy Schackwitz from California, I believe, were among the other fortunate observers picking up the Kelp around 7:40 and watching it fly off from Springfield Lake around 7:45.Kent Miller
