A BRAMBLING was found by Dan Bertsch at Allardale Park (Medina County Park District) in Medina County. The bird may be visiting a bird feeder that is set up in a grassy area along the eastern edge of the park, just to the east of the parking lot (see map below).

NOTE: The bird is ***extremely wary,*** as are American Tree Sparrows, juncos and goldfinches that it associates with. They are surprisingly flighty. Use extreme caution to give wide, respectful space to the many sparrow & finch flocks in the area, particularly around the feeder area. The birds will flush quickly and disappear for long periods of time (hours) if observers do not maintain a substantial distance. This cannot be emphasized enough. Patience will be required as the Brambling is not being seen hourly.

The best opportunities for viewing: watching birds coming to and from the feeder on the eastern edge of the park as well as intensely scanning the field edge and wooded edges to the east and southeast of the parking lot. Watch groups of ground-feeding American Tree Sparrows and Dark-eyed Juncos in particular, as well as groups of House Sparrows, House Finches and American Goldfinches. The bird can blend in incredibly well despite its stunning markings.

**Private property surrounds the area**

The Medina County Park District is aware of the presence of the bird at Allardale and staff will be monitoring.

Allardale Park is located at 401 Remsen Road, Medina, 44256.

Parking is limited – carpooling is highly recommended.
