   Blendon Woods Metro Park is located in the northeast corner of Columbus
off of I 270 & Rte 161. Take the Little Turtle Way exit

   Below is a list of some of the Birds seen at Blendon Woods lately

       Thoreau Lake

          A Black Ducks
          Gadwall
          Rudy Ducks
          Great Blue Heron
          N Shoveler-The last few weeks we have had this Bird here at
Thoreau Lake. They will get into small groups & do a circling behavior to
"shovel' up food.
              Sometimes other Ducks will join them. On our Facebook is a
video of them in a the feeding frenzy

  Below is a list of the Birds "Wintering" at Blendon Woods

      Hawks
          Red-tailed-Hickory Ridge Trail
          Red-shouldered-Thoreau Lake
          Cooper's Hawk-Nature Center Bird viewing window

     Songbirds
          Fox Sparrow-bird feeder at East Blind at Thoreau Lake & Nature
Center
          White-throated Sparrow-bird feeder at East Blind at Thoreau Lake
& Nature Center
          A Tree Sparrow-bird feeder at East Blind & Nature Center


     Woodpeckers
         Pileated-Lake Trail
         Hairy-Lake Trail, suet feeder at Nature Center
         Yellow-bellied Sapsucker-Lake Trail

     Owls
         Screech-Overlook Trail near steps
         Barred-Hickory Ridge & Ripple Rock Trail
         Great Horned-Second loop of Goldenrod Trail-pine trees
                              turn around Disc Golf course area-pine trees

    Turkeys-all over the park, especially at Bird feeders

        They are starting to flock together. It is common to see 30+
Turkeys in one flock. Sometimes 50+ Turkeys can be seen in one flock. A few
males are Displaying!
