At 4:00 PM Wednesday, Dec.9, I observed a Merlin along Rine Road in the Tri-Valley Wildlife Area in Muskingum County. It was at the top of a tree on a hill on the east side of Rine Road about 1/4 mile north of SR 208. The intersection of Rine Road and SR 208 is 3 to 4 miles east of the village of Dresden. Pictures were not very good because of the very overcast skies, but scope views were good. My wife and I saw a Merlin last winter in this same area, but on the west side of Rine Road.
