I birded the Lake Erie Bluffs in lake County this morning.  There was a decent amount of activity on the lake although it was all just common birds.  Of note were an eastern phoebe, graoy catbird, ruby-crowned kinglet, and 4 flyover American pipits.

Eastern Phoebe  1     An eastern phoebe was seen at a distance as close as 6 feet away.  It was a grayish-green flycatcher lacking an eyering or wingbars.  It sat upright and constantly moved its tail up and down.  It was hawking for insects along the stream that borders the southwest corner of the woods.

Gray Catbird  1     One to two gray catbirds have been present over the last three weeks.  This one was observed just north of the raised observation platform
