And I usually have one throughout most winters in my Licking County yard. One staked his claim on a feeder one year. He guarded it from sun up to sun set.

Even in the warmer climes of Columbus, we seldom have mockers in the winter. I hadn't had one for ten years until Mockarthy showed up in November, probably attracted by a bountiful crop of holly berries.
Day before yesterday, when it was 3 degrees F, I found his corpse on the yard, and he's going to the OSU Museum collection.
