I visited these two MetroParks south of Columbus, and, as the subject line indicates, had a fairly uneventful morning. Weather was gorgeous, but most of the still water was frozen, so waterfowl were mostly dispersed & rare (except for 120 Geese at Buzzardsroost Lake at Slate Run). I also stopped at Bareis Preserve and Bridge Park in Canal Winchester. Notables for the morning included:

Kestrels - 2 along Berger Rd and another at the Buckeye section of Walnut Woods were a good total here.
Harriers - not a one, despite being in great habitat much of the morning
Pileated Woodpeckers - 2 were along the 5-Oaks trail at Slate Run, and another 2 were split between Bareis Preserve and Bridge Park in Canal Winchester

Red-br.Nuthatch - at least 1 is still hanging out with chickadees in the fir copses of Walnut Woods Tall Pines area.

Golden-cr.Kinglets - a minim-movement, with singles at most stops (4 at Walnut Woods)
E.Bluebird - singles were at Bareis Preserve and at the Slate Run Wetlands
Yellow-thr.Warblers - Slate Run had its usual wintering flock, 7-8, along the 5-Oaks Trail
Tree Sparrows - scarce, with only 2-3 at Bareis, Slate Run Wetlands, and Buckeye area of Walnut Woods
Swamp Sparrow - 1 was at the Buckeye area of Walnut Woods
White-cr.Sparrows - 2 were at Bareis Preserve and another 2 at the HQ feeders at Walnut Woods
