Quick summary of Cleveland rarities.

The female King Eider continues a long stay offshore Kenneth J Sim's (Sim's) Park in Euclid. The bird often associates with goldeneye north of the beaches and pier but sometimes takes refuge in breakwater to the east of the pier.

The Black-headed Gull was not reported today from the old coast guard station at Wendy Park. The Little Gull was found briefly by at least one observer. 6,000+ Bonaparte's Gulls and 4,000+ Ring-billed Gulls in the harbor necessitate great effort finding these two "black-winged gulls."

A Snowy Owl was viewed in tough conditions by a few observers at Burke Lakefront Airport from Gate 13 looking west. Access off Marginal Road, using the small "pull offs" along the airport fence line.

Two Black Vultures continue to associate with a group of 30+ Turkey Vultures in downtown Brecksville, at the corner of Route 82 and Route 21, often roosting on the United Methodist church, and other times aloft over town.

A Northern Shrike, found by Dwight and Ann Chasar, continues to be very tricky to locate but regular in Jaite (Cuyahoga Valley National Park), just south of Brecksville Reservation. From the yellow park office buildings in Jaite, work south along the railroad tracks scouring this open scrubby habitat.
