Hello all,

Sorry I sent this a bit later than I would have liked, but I spotted four Cackling Geese yesterday at Melvin Miller Park in Urbana, Ohio (Champaign County) yesterday around 2pm. They were among a group of approximately 150 Canada Geese in the pond located in the park. While taking pictures, something that sounded like a gun blast spooked off about half the geese, but upon review of photos taken after the blast, it appeared at least two Cackling remained. I couldn't determine where the blast originated-and why, but I left very shortly after. The pond is smaller, so if the geese are still there, you can get good looks at the geese.

A couple photos are posted on eBird.
