At about 1640 yesterday (1.22.16), we were greeted with the arrival of a
Northern Mockingbird at our bird feeding area here in south central Huron
County. A single male bird was seen making quick work of the ripened fruit
on our Winterberry shrubs. Mockingbirds are not common to this area at any
season of the year. Of course, that made this sighting even more exciting
and a welcome ending to the holiday birding at our wildlife conservation
area.
