This evening in the late dusk, nearly dark, 6:25 PM, I heard the cry of a
killdeer flying above the Flint Ridge upland, at our farm in Hopewell
Township, Muskingum County.

After they disappear in late fall I don't usually see or hear them here
again until late February. So this was something unusual, and slightly out
of season. Certainly, the temperatures were unseasonably warm the past
couple days, topping out at 63 today. When Jane and I walked up the pasture
for our evening walk, just before I heard the killdeer, it was 54 F.

Interesting.
