My husband and I were treated to several woodcocks displaying tonight. We set up a blind and saw them within 5 ft of us. It was hilarious to hear that they do a little trill just before each "peent". I had never heard that before. The males put on a show dive bombing each other. Though the dominant male return to his basic area - he did not return to the exact same spot as I had been taught about them. More like an area within a 25 foot circle.

A very fun night!
