At 12:45 pm, Leslie Sours and I had a high count of 28 ROSS'S GEESE on Herr Road near Big Island Wildlife Area. Also present were 5 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE as well as 79 SNOW GEESE. Smaller waterfowl included Northern Pintails, Mallards, and American Black Ducks. An eagle strafed the flock and flushed most of the birds, but they were circling and seemed to want to stay in the area.
