I ran through many of the southern Alum Creek Lake accesses, from the dam up through Berlin Station, looking for early migrants divers as well as the scoters reported yesterday, but with limited success. The lake was fully open, with ice only in the narrowest bays, but held few flocks of waterfowl other than Geese and goldeneye. A flock of 200 Canada Geese was massed above the Cheshire Bridge, but didn't contain any other geese species. Common Goldeneye were at many access points, with the largest # being some 35 just south of the Cheshire bridge; I had 48 in all. Raptors included the expected Red-tails, plus an adult Bald Eagle north of SummerRidge access. Landbirds were unremarkable save for a wide scattering of Yellow-rumped warblers. I had them at many stops, the most being 7 at SummerRidge access.
