An adult Mew Gull was seen at Lorain Harbor around 12:30 this afternoon. The bird flew to the ice at the mouth of the river and settled down in a large ring-billed gull flock. There it slept mostly obscured for over an hour and a half. It finally spooked when an eagle went over. It flew up the river with a few ring-billed gulls. I drove up toward the bridge and checked there and the area south of the bridge without relocating it. To be honest, the lighting from the east side of the river was pretty bad, so it could be in that area.

There are a decent number of gulls in the harbor and river. In the 2 1/2 hours I was there, I was only able to find an adult Thayers, 1st cycle Iceland, and adult lesser black-backed gull.

There were a few new migrants passing by. I had flocks of pintails, gadwall, redheads and ring-necked ducks, turkey vultures, killdeer, horned larks and snow buntings.
